Module 1:

Introduction to IoT Standard & Technology

 

Contents:

Introduction to industrial IoT standard and protocol

Introduction to IoT platform and application

Introduction to IoT product development for industry 4.0

Introduction to IoT security in the Internet

 

 

Descriptions: This section will facilitate participants to know the industry standard for IoT sensors and systems.

 

Expected Participants: Secondary School Student (Form 1 until Form 6), Teacher, Undergrad & Postgrad Student, Developer, Researcher, Business and Marketing Consultant, Executive and Policy Maker.

Module 2:

Introduction to IoT Development Platform

Contents:

Introduction to RaspberryPi 3+ as the core development platform

Introduction to Rasbian Operating System (OS) for IoT platform

Basic hand-on for Rasbian GUI and console

Basic hand-on for using general-purpose input/output pins for controlling IoT related sensors and devices (e.g. LED, Button etc.)

 

Hand-on:

Contents 1 until 4 will be applied by participants

 

Descriptions: This section will facilitate participants to setup IoT platform testbed.

 

Expected Participants: Secondary School Students (Form 1 until Form 6), Teachers, Undergrad & Postgrad Student, Developer and Researcher.

 

Prerequisites: Know to use Computer/Laptop

 

Minimum Hardware Requirements: 2 Core CPUs, 4 GB RAM using Windows 10, admin access on laptop, can allow firewall to open port, 2 GB disk storage, and internet to download IoT tools.

Module 3:

Introduction to IoT Programming for Multi Sensors

Contents:

Introduction to Python programming for IoT development

Introduction to GrovePi+/PiHat Shields as the multi-sensor platforms

Hand-on to setup and deploy multiple sensors for data collections (e.g. Sensors: Temperature, Humidity, Gas, Fire, Distance, Water, Moisture, Light, Current, Vibration etc.)

Hand-on to enable sensor connectivity using machine-to-machine (M2M) communication

Hand-on:

Contents 1 until 4 will be applied by participants

Descriptions: This section will facilitate participants to do programing and data collection from sensors in the IoT platform testbed.

 

Expected Participants: Secondary School Students (Form 1 until Form 6), Teachers, Undergrad & Postgrad Student, Developer and Researcher.

 

Prerequisites: Know to use Computer/Laptop

 

Minimum Hardware Requirements: 2 Core CPUs, 4 GB RAM using Windows 10, admin access on laptop, can allow firewall to open port, 2 GB disk storage, and internet to download IoT tools.

Module 4:

Introduction to The Standard Lightweight IoT Protocol (MQTT)

Contents:

Introduction to open source Industry IoT communication protocol, namely Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) version 3.1.1

Hand-on to extremely lightweight publish/subscribe messaging transport protocol on RaspberryPi 3+ and PC/Laptop

Hand-on to publish/subscribe data from multi sensors (Sensors from Module 3)

Hand-on controlling/monitoring IoT sensors and systems using Android Mobile Application

Hand-on:

Contents 1 until 4 will be applied by participants

 

Descriptions: This section will facilitate participants to deploy MQTT connectivity using publish/subscribe protocol for distributing or collecting sensor information in the Internet.

 

Expected Participants: Secondary School Students (Form 1 until Form 6), Teachers, Undergrad & Postgrad Student, Developer and Researcher.

 

Prerequisites: Know to use Computer/Laptop

 

Minimum Hardware Requirements: 2 Core CPUs, 4 GB RAM using Windows 10, admin access on laptop, can allow firewall to open port, 2 GB disk storage, and internet to download IoT tools.

Module 5:

Polishing IoT Systems for Product Pitching

Contents:

Hand-on to enhancing the integration of IoT Sensors and Systems for seamless connectivity.

Hand-on to polishing the GUI for user-friendly and usefulness of IoT projects that are proposed by participants.

Commercialization pitching of the proposed IoT projects by participants.

Hand-on:

Contents 1 until 3 will be applied by participants

 

Descriptions: This section will facilitate participants to deploy smart contracts in the private blockchain testbed (refer to Module 2).

 

Expected Participants: Secondary School Students (Form 1 until Form 6), Teachers, Undergrad & Postgrad Student, Developer and Researcher.

 

Prerequisites: Know to use Computer/Laptop and Presentation Software (e.g. Power Point)

 

Minimum Hardware Requirements: 2 Core CPUs, 4 GB RAM using Windows 10, admin access on laptop, can allow firewall to open port, 2 GB disk storage, and internet to download IoT tools.
